Scott is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
As a husband and dad of two boys, his passion is helping new dads navigate the stressors and challenges that come with the role. Scott values emotional resilience, strengths of the individual, curiosity, compassion, and hope. He integrates these values into his sessions with clients while aiming to help them live in the moment, manage emotions, improve relationships, and manage stress.
Scott is trained in the therapy models of Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with trauma-informed interventions. Scott has also attended training through Postpartum Support International (PSI) in helping parents navigate mental health issues in the postpartum period. He believes firmly in the process of "Meeting people where they're at".
Before focusing on private practice, Scott worked in the community with the severe and persistent mentally ill population. Scott graduated from Immaculata University with a Master's in Counseling Psychology and received a Bachelor's Degree from Kutztown University in 2002.
Scott accepts the following insurances: United Behavioral Health/Optum, Highmark Blue Shield, Aetna, and Quest Behavioral Health. He would be happy to provide a Superbill (receipt) to obtain reimbursement for out of network services.
