Anna Gjertsen is a pre-licensed therapist. She attended Washington College for undergrad, Villanova University for her masters in Experimental Psychology, and Widener University for her doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Anna has 6 years of experience providing therapy to adults and adolescents from a variety of backgrounds in an array of different settings, from residential rehabilitation to outpatient clinics. She has particular expertise in working with individuals navigating complex health challenges. She also has expertise supporting people recovering from trauma, anxiety, substance use concerns, and those looking to increase their sense of self-worth and self-compassion.

To best meet each client’s unique needs, Dr. Gjertsen uses a person-centered, integrated approach to therapy that combines various approaches to talk therapy (e.g., relational psychodynamic, ACT, CBT, and Emotion-Focused therapy), along with biofeedback and neurofeedback. Anna works with her clients to foster a collaborative and safe environment where you can be fully yourself. Her work with clients focuses on promoting emotional regulation, fostering self-exploration, and helping clients develop tools and skills that empower them to lead lives that feel fulfilling and meaningful. Deciding to start a process of therapy can be difficult, but if you think it’s time to take this courageous step, Anna can help you feel right at home. Anna’s style is rooted in creativity, sensitivity, and warmth, and she is grounded in an appreciation of the differences and connections between us all. So, if you are looking to feel more fulfilled and at ease in your own life, Dr. Gjertsen is ready to walk alongside you and guide you on your journey.
