Pilar Poal, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist with a clinical focus on adjustment to medical illness and disability, couples therapy, premarital counseling, depression and health psychology. Additional areas of interest include: women's issues, stress and anger management and life transitions.

Dr. Poal received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed her internship at Temple University Hospital. She is a senior staff therapist at Council for Relationships. She has been in practice since 1990, has worked as a staff psychologist at Moss Rehabilitation Hospital and as a consultant to several medical centers in the area.

Dr. Poal is a member of the American Psychological Association and of the Philadelphia Society of Clinical Psychologists. She is trained in PAIRS, PREPARE/ENRICH and EMDR. Dr. Poal is fluent in Spanish.
